Media Round Tables

We  create media round tables for the benefit of our clients:

Why can’t the UK create a Google or a Microsoft?

A round table discussion was hosted by the Broadcast PR Business at 53 Chandos Place, WC2 on Thursday 14 June 2007.

The UK has world leading companies in the energy, banking and advertising sectors. It has strong science universities and plenty of cutting edge IP. London is one of the world’s top financial centres, a magnet for capital and investment. So why can’t it produce technology and science-based firms to rival those created in the USA?

The following attended and contributed:

Jayne Chace, Chief Marketing Officer of LogicaCMG Telecom (recently re-branded as Acision)

Luke Johnson, Risk Capital Partners – investor and entrepreneur, Chairman of Channel 4

Neil Koenig, senior producer of BBC Radio 4’s “The Bottom Line” programme

Samera Owusu Tutu, Assistant Online Editor for Realbusiness.co.uk.

Professor Gordon Murray, Chair of Management (entrepreneurship) at the University of Exeter

David Rajan, Director Technology - Emerging Business
UK, Ireland, Israel & South Africa, Oracle

Nick Rodgers, CEO and co-founder of Ipso Ventures, a creator of sustainable technology and life sciences companies.
